AIT S-5 Resistance Welding Electrode

The S-5 series was originally developed by Hughes as weld type ESQ series parallel gap electrode that allows the end user to set the gap width using the weld head.  The tips are welded to the shank.  This series was originally designed for use in the Hughes VTA-90 or 96 weld heads, but may fit other similar weld heads as well. Understanding AIT part numbers is very simple.  Various dimensions on the drawing are represented by letters, which correspond to values in the part number.  The beginning of the part number establishes the electrode series and material, followed by various dimensions.
